Camp Joy's Purpose
Camp Joy’s Purpose is multi-faceted. It is our desire and intent to provide a place that is characterized by the following:
A concentration on the preaching and teaching of God’s Word.
A controlled environment where negative influences are removed and positive influences are substituted.
A careful environment where close attention is paid to details and things are done with purpose and caution.
A concerned environment where Christian examples are given and standards set forth.
A challenging environment where the Word that is ministered and the examples of those ministering calls for a decision.
A convicting environment where the Holy Spirit deals with sin and lives are changed.

Camp Joy's Plan
In order to accomplish our purpose the ministry of Camp joy has been built around four essential elements.
Preaching - It is our constant and prayerful effort to fill our pulpit with Spirit-filled and controlled men. Men who take a strong, consistent stand on the issues of the day and rightly divide the Word of God, preach with conviction and a heart of love.
Program - Our programs are well planned, organized and executed. They consist of many innovative and original games as well as traditional camp activities. We believe that camp should be fun, but that the fun should help accomplish our purpose. Therefore, we do not allow our programming to be isolated from our purpose. It must never ignore or distract from that purpose but is designed to help accomplish it.
People - We believe it is “the heart of man that speaks to the heart of men.” We want our staff to have a heart for God that will reach others. Our first priority is always a godly life, and our second is a servant’s heart. We believe that the way you live is more important than what you say, and that the transparent honest Christian life in action is one of the most effective tools for reaching others with the message of Christ’s love.
Prayer - In all things, whether physical or spiritual, we realize we must be fully dependent upon God. We believe this dependence is best seen in prayer.
Our Prayer for each camper is expressed by our camp verse:
II Peter 3:18
"But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen."

Statement of Position,
Joy Baptist Camp Association
JOY BAPTIST CAMP ASSOCIATION is a fellowship of independent Baptist Churches and is separate from any other state or national organization.
Camp Joy takes a strong fundamentalist Baptist position and is opposed to new evangelicalism, cooperative evangelism and any position that weakens the ministry of the local church. All workers and officers must sign the camp doctrinal statement.
Camp Joy is conservative in its philosophy of Christian music. No rock-type or contemporary music, whether "Christian" or not, is allowed in any camp activity.
Concerning dress, knee-length or longer clothing is required of all personnel. Though there are various opinions among the churches on the subject, boys and girls maintain separate swimming periods.
We believe that our camp program should be an aid to the local church, both in evangelizing unsaved campers and teaching Christian young people the Scriptural principals of Christian standards, witnessing and Godly conduct. To this end, the camp association conducts a full summer camping program and makes its facilities available to the churches for fall, winter and spring retreats the rest of the year.
